![]() ![]() IT OPENS CALCULATOR BACK IN YOUR ORIGINAL DESKTOP and now you can't see your two snapped windows. Now you want to open calculator, you hover over the dock and click calculator. Blacklist apps you don’t want to list or trigger AltTab from. mac creates a new desktop with these two windows. show app badges, Space numbers, increase icon, thumbnail, title size, etc) Custom trigger shortcuts with almost any key. I am a long-time novice on computers, so dont want anything. I dont do this very often or for very long. ![]() ![]() User scenario using Mac's window snapping. I would like to do a little (not a lot) work with a split screen, largely to look at spreadsheets and bank statements simultaneously, and also to compare spreadsheets with data sources. then when you want to open a 3rd window/app, it takes you back to the original desktop. I personally think it's better than Better Snap Tool (which I have used) because it's more focused of an app, but still has plenty of features. It is also recommended on the Spectacle (now unmaintained) GitHub page as a replacement. It opens a NEW SPACE and places your two snapped windows in a new space/desktop. Rectangle is a Magnet equivalent app, but if offers few extra features and, more importantly, it is free and open-source (the developer is very nice). I personally cannot believe the poor design of mac's native 'window snapping'. My guess is Apple (Craig Federighi) doesn't allow developers to use this feature, because that's what users want. Windows does this natively and even mac's own (janky) implementation of window snapping does this. After snapping one window, does Rectangle 'group' the other open windows in the open space to allow the user to choose what to snap next? This is a huge feature missing from all these 3rd party snap tools for mac. ![]()
